Job Purpose

The QA Associate is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of UNOPS IT applications, with a specific focus on financial management systems and IPSAS-compliant solutions. This role contributes to successful project delivery and operational efficiency by conducting comprehensive testing throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The associate collaborates with development teams, business stakeholders, and analysts to identify and resolve defects, validate financial data integrity, and enhance testing processes. The position also involves promoting a quality-focused culture within the IT Group and leveraging AI tools to improve testing efficiency and artifact quality.

Responsibilities

The QA Associate will perform comprehensive software testing, including writing and executing test cases based on business and functional requirements, and conducting end-user testing. This involves reviewing user stories, providing clear feedback to development teams and stakeholders, and identifying/communicating test-related risks. The role includes executing all levels of software testing (System, Integration, Regression) and validating financial data accuracy, period-end closing processes, audit trails, multi-currency transactions, data migration, and user access controls to ensure IPSAS compliance. Additionally, the associate will support test automation implementation, propose process improvements for efficiency, and contribute to knowledge sharing within the QA team.

Work Experience

Requires a minimum of 6 years of software industry experience in testing (with secondary education) or 2 years (with a Bachelor's degree). Must understand various testing types and approaches, possess knowledge of test automation and SQL, and have experience writing test cases, performing end-user testing, and communicating results. Experience with AI tools for testing, financial/ERP systems, and core accounting principles is essential.
