ICT Associate - Quality Assurance

Job Purpose

The Quality Assurance (QA) Associate is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of UNOPS IT applications, particularly financial management systems and IPSAS-compliant solutions. This role contributes to successful project delivery and operational efficiency by conducting comprehensive testing throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The QA Associate collaborates closely with development teams, business analysts, and finance stakeholders to identify and resolve defects, validate data integrity, and enhance testing processes. The position also aims to foster a culture of quality within the IT Group and leverage AI tools to improve testing efficiency and artifact quality.

Responsibilities

The QA Associate's primary duties involve comprehensive software testing, including liaising with Product Managers and Solutions Designers to understand requirements for test case creation. This includes writing and executing test cases, performing end-user testing, and reviewing user stories for validity. The role requires providing continuous feedback to development teams and stakeholders, identifying and communicating test-related risks, and executing all levels of software testing (System, Integration, Regression). A key responsibility is adopting AI-powered solutions to assist in test planning and documentation. Additionally, the associate will support test automation implementation, propose solutions for increasing testing efficiency, and proactively identify process improvements. Contributing to knowledge-sharing within the QA team and assisting in the development of standard QA processes are also integral parts of the role.

Work Experience

A minimum of 6 years of experience in software and web-based testing is required with a secondary education, or a minimum of 2 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree. Required experience includes understanding different testing types, knowledge of test automation and SQL, writing test cases, performing end-user testing, and documenting results. Experience with or strong interest in using Generative AI for testing is also required. Experience in finance, payroll, HR, or project management domains is highly desired.
