The Regional Office provides strategic leadership and operational support in areas like Partnerships, Communications, and Project Management, aiming to enhance sustainable infrastructure and resource management across the continent.
Job Purpose
The Partnerships intern, based in Lusaka, Zambia, will support the Partnerships Unit by conducting research on donors and market trends, managing business acquisition systems, and providing administrative support for project document development. This role is designed as a professional development opportunity, enabling the intern to gain practical skills, access certifications, and utilize learning platforms. The intern will contribute innovative solutions to partnership development, leveraging their academic background to enhance UNOPS' engagement with key partners and identify new opportunities within its mandate.
Responsibilities
The Partnerships Intern will support the East and Southern Africa Multi-Country Office (ESAMCO) in Lusaka, reporting to the Partnerships Specialist. Key responsibilities include conducting business intelligence and market analysis by researching donor priorities and national strategies to identify new engagement opportunities. The intern will also provide support in partnerships and project development, assisting in coordinating with potential donors and partners, participating in meetings, and developing essential project documentation such as concept notes, proposals, and risk registers. Additionally, the role involves knowledge management, ensuring organizational systems and databases are updated and providing reports on the business acquisition pipeline.
Work Experience
No prior work experience is required. However, experience in government, diplomatic, non-governmental, or international civil service within partnerships or development fields is considered an asset. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite Applications is also desirable.
