Job Purpose

The BIM Engineer provides specialized technical support for the development, review, and supervision of technical specifications using BIM methodology. This role is crucial for ensuring the technical quality, interdisciplinary compatibility, and adherence to national and international standards throughout the project lifecycle, from design to operation. The position contributes to the successful execution of UNOPS projects by ensuring that BIM standards are met, facilitating effective coordination among disciplines, and supporting procurement processes through technical document review and offer evaluation.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include developing and reviewing the BIM Execution Plan, advising on BIM standards and internal requirements (EIR), and providing guidance on Autodesk platforms and BIM360. The role involves creating BIM technical files at various development levels (LOD 300-500), performing 4D and 5D programming, and converting AutoCAD plans to BIM format. The engineer will develop plans from Revit for all specialties, supervise the creation and execution of BIM technical files, and conduct comprehensive reviews of technical specifications, including compatibility checks and interference detection. Additionally, the position supports procurement by reviewing terms of reference, market studies, and tender documents, participating in offer evaluation committees, and providing technical support during bidding processes and to project management.

Work Experience

Requires 4 years or less of professional experience in modeling and coordinating building and infrastructure projects. Experience utilizing BIM methodology for modeling and coordination is desirable.
