Job Purpose
The Regional People Business Partner acts as a senior strategic HR partner to Regional and Country leadership, co-owning the people agenda to enable effective service line delivery, operational performance, and sustainable growth. This role ensures alignment of people management practices with organizational goals, translating business priorities into integrated, forward-looking people solutions. By building strong relationships with senior leaders in complex environments, the partner navigates people challenges and applies effective strategies to enhance organizational capacity, ultimately supporting UNOPS' mandate to deliver efficient, scalable, and high-quality services across regions.
Responsibilities
The role involves strategic people partnering, aligning workforce strategies with service line priorities and the Integrated People Strategy. This includes contributing to key decision-making forums, translating service line demand into workforce strategies, and managing stakeholder relationships. Responsibilities also encompass workforce, talent, and performance management, utilizing analytics to drive performance and advising on organizational design. Furthermore, the role focuses on identifying capability needs, guiding learning initiatives, and providing strategic workforce input into project design and implementation. It includes ensuring policy application and operational excellence, fostering a positive culture, promoting DEI, and driving knowledge management and innovation in people practices.
Work Experience
Required experience includes serving as a strategic HR Business Partner in complex operational environments, providing strategic HR advice, and implementing initiatives in talent management, workforce planning, and change management. Experience aligning workforce strategies with business performance and using analytics for decision-making is essential. Experience in multicultural settings or the UN system, particularly in development or humanitarian contexts, is desired.
