Job Purpose
The Project Management Support Associate provides essential support for the planning, coordination, and execution of project activities within the Peru Project Office. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient project delivery by managing information, monitoring progress, and facilitating communication among internal teams, partners, and service providers. By maintaining organized documentation, tracking milestones, and ensuring adherence to project frameworks and internal processes, the Associate directly contributes to the timely and effective achievement of project objectives and expected results, aligning with UNOPS standards and procedures. The position plays a key role in the smooth operation and successful implementation of projects in critical sectors.
Responsibilities
The Project Management Support Associate is responsible for comprehensive support across various project functions. This includes assisting in planning and preparation by supporting stakeholder engagement, needs assessments, and capacity-building programs; contributing to budget preparation, procurement processes, and risk identification; and aiding in drafting project agreements. In training and implementation, the role involves coordinating logistics for events, supporting material development, liaising with service providers, and facilitating communications. For monitoring, reporting, and compliance, the Associate will develop tracking tools, archive documentation, contribute to reports, track milestones, and ensure adherence to UNOPS policies. Operational and logistical support includes coordinating procurement, travel, and inventory, as well as managing project files and HR-related requirements. Finally, the role contributes to knowledge building by supporting training sessions and participating in knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Work Experience
Required experience includes work in project management or related areas, and demonstrable proficiency in collaboration and productivity tools (e.g., MS Office, G-Suite) and web-based management systems. Experience in multicultural environments or UN system organizations in a developing country, and experience in development or humanitarian contexts are desirable.
