Job Purpose
The Civil Engineer (Waterproofing Specialist) will provide crucial support in reviewing design and construction activities, ensuring projects adhere to budget constraints and meet the highest quality standards. This role involves integrating best practices in technical design and construction management throughout the project lifecycle. A key responsibility is maintaining strict compliance with Health, Safety, Social, and Environmental (HSSE) standards, as well as Protection against Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH) requirements. The incumbent will leverage strong technical expertise, proactive resource management, and effective coordination skills to ensure integrity and transparency in all civil engineering endeavors.
Responsibilities
Provide technical advisory services for project and construction contracts, with a focus on waterproofing solutions. This includes analyzing engineering projects and works, suggesting necessary adjustments to designs or execution. Offer technical support to project recipients, assisting in engineering areas related to waterproofing. Review all project-related documents and licensing. Assist in reviewing engineering project budgets, specifically for waterproofing aspects, and analyze change requests. Propose execution solutions for food storage unit construction projects. Ensure project execution adheres to all relevant standards, regulations, and plans, including safety, health, environmental, social, and quality plans. Participate in project planning, monitoring, and evaluation meetings as required.
Work Experience
Required experience includes civil engineering work with a focus on waterproofing or related areas. Desirable experience involves working in multicultural environments, with United Nations system organizations in developing countries, or in development or humanitarian contexts.
