Job Purpose

The Mechanical Engineer will provide technical support for the review of design and construction activities, ensuring projects adhere to budget and quality standards. This role involves incorporating best practices in technical design and construction management throughout the project lifecycle. A key aspect is maintaining strict compliance with Health, Safety, Social, and Environmental (HSSE) standards, as well as Protection against Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH) requirements. The incumbent will leverage strong technical expertise and proactive resource management to ensure integrity, transparency, and effective coordination among all stakeholders involved in civil engineering activities.

Responsibilities

Provide technical advisory services for project and construction contracts, including the analysis of Mechanical Systems Engineering projects and suggesting necessary adjustments. Offer technical support to project recipients and assist in reviewing all project-related documents and licensing. Review Mechanical Systems Engineering project budgets and analyze change requests. Propose solutions for the construction of food storage units and support project execution to ensure compliance with standards, regulations, and plans, including safety, health, environmental, social, and quality aspects. Participate in project planning, monitoring, and evaluation meetings as required.

Work Experience

Required experience includes work in mechanical systems engineering, storage systems engineering, or related fields. Experience in multicultural environments, with UN system organizations in developing countries, or in development/humanitarian contexts is desirable.
