Job Purpose
The Electrical Engineer will provide crucial technical support in reviewing design and construction activities, ensuring projects adhere to budget constraints and the highest quality standards. This role involves integrating best practices in technical design and construction management throughout the project lifecycle. A key responsibility is maintaining strict compliance with Health, Safety, Social, and Environmental (HSSE) standards, as well as Protection against Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH) requirements. The incumbent will leverage strong technical expertise and proactive resource management to ensure integrity, transparency, and effective coordination among all stakeholders involved in engineering activities, contributing to the successful delivery of UNOPS projects.
Responsibilities
Provide technical advisory services for project and construction contracts, including the analysis of Electrical Engineering and Industrial Automation projects, suggesting necessary adjustments. Offer technical support in monitoring project recipients and delivering assistance in Electrical Engineering and Industrial Automation. Review all project-related documents and licensing. Support budget reviews for Electrical Engineering and Industrial Automation projects and analyze change requests. Propose solutions for the construction of food storage units. Ensure project execution adheres to all relevant standards, regulations, and plans, including safety, health, environmental, social, and quality aspects. Participate in project planning, monitoring, and evaluation meetings as required.
Work Experience
Required experience includes work in electrical engineering, industrial automation engineering, storage systems engineering, or related fields. Experience in multicultural environments, with UN system organizations in developing countries, or in development/humanitarian contexts is desirable.
