Job Purpose
The Project Management Support Officer provides essential operational, analytical, and administrative support for the effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of UNOPS projects. This specific role focuses on recruiting a Senior Specialist for Municipal Risk Reduction Plans (PMRR) within the "Risk-Free Periphery" project, emphasizing social participation and non-structural measures for climate change adaptation. The position ensures adherence to UNOPS policies and client requirements, contributing to disaster risk mitigation and prevention efforts. Qualified candidates not selected for this project may be considered for similar future roles.
Responsibilities
Manage, analyze, and report on project data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability through collection, cleaning, and validation. Maintain databases and information systems for real-time tracking, supporting the creation of analytical reports and presentations. Collaborate in project work plan development and implementation with partners, including federal and municipal governments, academia, and civil society. Conduct technical visits to municipalities for risk reduction plan development and prepare necessary technical documents. Coordinate procurement and financial activities, assisting in terms of reference development and reviewing consultant deliverables. Monitor project processes for efficiency and technical soundness, ensuring contract maintenance aligns with technical specifications.
Work Experience
Requires at least two years of experience in proposing structural measures for slope stabilization. Proficiency in collaboration and productivity tools (e.g., MS Office, G-Suite) and web-based management systems is essential. Familiarity with the Ministry of Cities’ methodology for Municipal Risk Reduction Plans is desirable.
