The North Africa Multi-Country Office (NAMCO) in Tunis manages operations across Algeria, Egypt, Libya, and Morocco, supporting socio-economic development through various projects. This role is situated within the UNOPS office in Tunis.
Job Purpose
The Security Guard (retainer) is responsible for implementing security measures, responding to security incidents, and maintaining a safe and secure environment for UNOPS partner personnel, visitors, and property in Tunis. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety and security of operations within the UNOPS office and its associated partner facilities, adhering strictly to United Nations security standards.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include enforcing visitor control procedures and providing escorts as needed. The role involves operating electronic equipment like metal detectors for searches and maintaining fire suppression systems. Daily duties also encompass inspecting incoming mail and packages, preventing unauthorized access, and accounting for organizational property leaving the premises. Immediate response to security incidents and facilitating movement within the premises are critical. Periodically, the Security Guard will implement ad-hoc security tasks as directed and ensure rapid response team deployment within 30 minutes during urgent situations.
Work Experience
A minimum of one year of experience as a security guard is required. This experience should demonstrate a foundational understanding of security protocols and procedures.
