Organizational Context
The East Asia and Pacific Multi-Country Office (EAPMCO) of UNOPS supports operations across 24 countries, focusing on sustainable development initiatives. The Philippines office, established in 2016, provides services in procurement, project management, infrastructure, and logistics, with projects in governance, justice, health, and infrastructure, emphasizing capacity building and SDG acceleration.
Job Purpose
The Justice Zone Coordination Associate provides essential support for the planning, coordination, and execution of project activities aimed at developing more coordinated, efficient, and people-centered justice services. This role is crucial for enhancing the functionality of Justice Zones across the country, supporting the implementation of Result 1 of the GOJUST Phase III project. By collaborating closely with project stakeholders, the Associate ensures that activities are delivered efficiently and effectively, aligning with the project's results framework and internal processes, thereby contributing to the overall improvement of justice sector coordination and service delivery.
Responsibilities
The Justice Zone Coordination Associate will provide comprehensive support for project implementation, including assisting the EU-GoJUST III Team in rolling out justice sector reform initiatives and capacity-building interventions for justice sector partners. The role involves supporting the establishment and mentoring of interim Secretariat functions for Justice Zone working committees. Operational support includes assisting with logistics and procurement for project activities and monitoring program implementation according to the ME framework. The Associate will also support planning processes, the development of MEL frameworks, data gathering for assessments, and facilitating visits to detention facilities. Capacity building support includes assisting in training program design and needs assessments. Secretariat support involves organizing meetings, documenting decisions, and coordinating with various stakeholders. The role also entails preparing work plans, budgets, and progress reports, and ensuring documentary requirements are met.
Work Experience
Required experience includes program/project coordination support, secretariat functions, project implementation, and operational support in multi-stakeholder or multi-agency contexts. Proficiency in collaboration and management tools is essential. Desired experience includes field exposure to planning and monitoring multi-stakeholder programs, report production, partner reporting, event facilitation, and working in multicultural or UN environments.
