Job Purpose
The Director, Energy Transition Partnership (ETP) provides strategic leadership and overall management for the ETP team, hosted within UNOPS. This role is responsible for developing and implementing the ETP strategy, coordinating programme activities, and ensuring effective delivery of outputs. The Director leads resource mobilization efforts, cultivates strong relationships with funders and government partners, and reports on programme results, performance, and financial accountability to the ETP Steering Committee, ensuring the mandate and budget are met.
Responsibilities
The Director oversees the ETP team's implementation of approved plans and delivery of programme outputs, initiating corrective actions as needed. Key responsibilities include establishing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships with funders, governments, and partners, and leading ETP communications. The role involves providing strategic advice, managing risks, and ensuring adherence to UNOPS policies and financial regulations. The Director also leads fundraising and resource mobilization initiatives, develops funding proposals, and coordinates with stakeholders to secure and deploy resources effectively. Additionally, the Director champions risk management and contributes to knowledge management and innovation within the energy transition sector.
Work Experience
Requires at least five years of international professional experience in strategic and managerial leadership roles. Demonstrated experience in leading energy transition initiatives (e.g., renewable energy, policy, finance) and engaging with high-level stakeholders is essential. Experience in multicultural or UN system environments in developing countries is desired.
