National Project Associate
Organizational Context
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) promotes industrial development for poverty reduction, inclusive globalization, and environmental sustainability. Its mission is to promote and accelerate inclusive and sustainable industrial development (ISID) in Member States, aligning with the 2030 Agenda and SDG-9. UNIDO's work focuses on areas like renewable energy, climate action, food security, and sustainable supply chains, utilizing technical cooperation, research, normative functions, and partnerships.
Job Purpose
To support the green structural transformation of industrial sectors in the Philippines and Lao PDR by strengthening policy frameworks and institutional capacities for sustainable and climate-resilient industrial development. This involves enhancing national government capacity to design, implement, and monitor evidence-based, low-carbon, and inclusive industrial policies.
Responsibilities
Assist in project implementation, including work plan preparation, daily operations, administration, accounting, and reporting. Coordinate with project execution partners, organize and support Project Steering Committee meetings, and document meeting minutes. Monitor project activities against milestones, assist in preparing subcontractor terms of reference, and manage contracts. Coordinate with other national project coordinators, assist in organizing training and workshops, and support project publicity. Prepare project reports and documentation, monitor progress against the M&E plan, and provide evaluations for experts and service providers. Perform ad-hoc activities as needed.
Work Experience
At least one year of experience in industrial structure diagnostics, industrial policy formulation and advisory services, industrial process improvement, and value chain development, preferably in international development technical cooperation. Experience in project management, working with international partners, and public/private sectors is required. Demonstrated understanding or experience in environmental and climate policies is an asset. Good analytical writing, communication, MS Office, email, and internet skills are required.
