Organizational Context

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) promotes industrial development for poverty reduction, inclusive globalization, and environmental sustainability. UNIDO's mission is to promote and accelerate inclusive and sustainable industrial development in Member States, aligning with the 2030 Agenda and SDG-9. The organization's work is guided by its Medium-Term Programme Framework (MTPF) 2026-2029 and Vision 2050, focusing on areas like supply chains, food security, clean energy, and digitalization. UNIDO operates through four enabling functions: technical cooperation, research and policy advice, normative functions, and partnerships. The Directorate of SDG Innovation and Economic Transformation (IET) develops innovative services in agro-industry, sustainability standards, and climate technologies. This position is within the Task Force “Global Alliance for Responsible and Green Minerals,” which serves as the Secretariat for the Alliance, aiming to position UNIDO as a key partner for responsible and green minerals along the value chain and promote a sustainable minerals future.

Job Purpose

To provide administrative and project support to the Task Force “Global Alliance for Responsible and Green Minerals,” ensuring efficient operations and contributing to the Alliance's objectives.

Responsibilities

Screen and draft responses to incoming mail, provide project information, and track pending matters. Respond to information requests and refer queries. Draft, proofread, and edit routine correspondence and documents. Assist in preparing and updating presentations, website content, social media, and communication materials. Monitor project exercises, including budget revisions, obligations, and project completion. Track project budget expenditures and retrieve information from SAP. Initiate and follow up on recruitment, training, travel, and procurement actions using SAP. Perform general administrative tasks such as arranging meetings, reservations, and preparing requisitions. Conduct ad-hoc assignments and research. Maintain files and databases. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Work Experience

A minimum of six years of relevant working experience is required. Experience in office procedures and practices, preferably within the UN system or a multicultural environment, is essential. Experience in project administration, accounting, and finance, supporting managerial staff, and utilizing secretarial/administrative skills for project execution is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and internet usage is mandatory. Experience with SAP or similar ERP software is required.
