The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) promotes industrial development for poverty reduction, inclusive globalization, and environmental sustainability. This position is within the Regional Bureau for Europe and Central Asia (GLO/RFO/EUR).
Job Purpose
To prepare a strategic, evidence-based publication on UNIDO's value proposition for the European Union and its Member States in the Europe and Central Asia region. This publication will serve as a tool for partnership development and resource mobilization, guiding UNIDO's engagement by highlighting its mandate, advantages, capacities, and results. It will also identify areas where UNIDO can contribute to EU external action, industrial, climate, enlargement, and investment priorities in the region.
Responsibilities
Conduct desk reviews of relevant UNIDO and EU documents to develop a research framework. Research and collect data on UNIDO-EU cooperation, mapping projects, funding trends, and identifying cooperation opportunities. Draft a comprehensive paper detailing UNIDO's value proposition, incorporating data, examples, and case studies. Revise the paper based on feedback to ensure accuracy and alignment with UNIDO's messaging. Prepare a design brief for the publication and support its professional design and finalization.
Work Experience
Minimum of seven years of professional experience in research, policy analysis, or international development cooperation at the international level. Demonstrated knowledge of EU institutions, policies, and funding instruments. Proven experience in drafting analytical papers or publications for high-level/external audiences. Experience within the UN system or other international organizations, and experience coordinating research/publication processes involving multiple stakeholders are desirable.

Research and analytical skills, policy analysis, report writing, project coordination, knowledge of EU external action and industrial policies, data collection and interpretation, communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of another UN language is an asset.
