Organizational Context

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) promotes inclusive and sustainable industrial development in Member States, aligning with the 2030 Agenda and SDG-9. The Directorate of Global Partnerships and External Relations (GLO) manages relations with Member States and partners, overseeing regional bureaus and Investment and Technology Promotion Offices (ITPOs). The Division of ITPOs and Institutional Partnerships (GLO/ITP) facilitates partnerships to support developing countries in attracting investment and adopting new technologies for sustainable industrial development.

Job Purpose

To support the Investment and Technology Promotion Office (ITPO) in Tokyo, Japan, in its core functions related to promoting industrial development, investment, and technology transfer, with a focus on sustainable development.

Responsibilities

Assist in organizing investment and technology promotion seminars and events, including report writing. Support the registration and promotion of sustainable technologies from Japanese companies on the ITPO Tokyo's platform. Research and gather data on investment climates, business environments, and technology needs in developing countries, as well as specific industrial development themes. Provide assistance in public relations and advocacy activities, including social media, website content, publications, and event materials. Engage in other emerging projects to enhance learning experience. Prepare an end-of-internship report.
