Associate HR Policy and Employee Relations Expert
Organizational Context
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) promotes industrial development for poverty reduction, inclusive globalization, and environmental sustainability. This role is within the Directorate of Corporate Services and Operations (COR), specifically the Human Resources Policy and Employee Relations Unit (COR/HRM/PEO/PER). This unit develops, reviews, and interprets HR policies, advises senior management on employee relations, and ensures fairness in the internal justice system.
Job Purpose
To support the development, review, and interpretation of UNIDO's human resources policies and provide advice on employee relations matters, contributing to the modernization of the HR policy framework and safeguarding the organization's integrity and reputation.
Responsibilities
Support the preparation and amendment of HR policies, conduct policy research, prepare manuals and training materials, draft responses to policy interpretation queries, and contribute to legal submissions for staff appeals and disciplinary proceedings.
Work Experience
Minimum of three years of experience in HR policy development and/or applying international administrative law to appeals and disciplinary matters. Experience in an international organization is an asset.
Skills
Proficiency in HR policy development, interpretation of international administrative law, research, drafting, and communication. Ability to analyze and plan, deliver results, and adapt to change.
