Maintenance Technician (Electro-Mechanic & Equipment)
Organizational Context
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) promotes industrial development for poverty reduction, inclusive globalization, and environmental sustainability. This position is within the Facility Management Services (COR/BMS), responsible for the safe and reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of the Vienna International Centre (VIC) buildings and installations.
Job Purpose
To perform routine tasks related to the maintenance and repair of electro-mechanical machines and electrical equipment within the VIC, ensuring their proper functioning and safety.
Responsibilities
Perform routine assembly, testing, and maintenance of electro-mechanical machines and equipment (e.g., automatic doors, barriers, rolling shutters). Inspect and assist in testing elevators and escalators. Repair and maintain façade cleaning equipment. Assemble, install, test, and repair electrical components, systems, wiring, and control panels. Ensure adherence to safety regulations and proper handling of equipment. Record work information in the Facility Management Electronic Workorder Platform.
Work Experience
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience for those with secondary education, or 1 year for those with a first-level university degree. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Basic knowledge of AUTOCAD is an advantage. Good physical condition is required for demanding tasks.
