The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is the specialized agency of the United Nations that promotes industrial development for poverty reduction, inclusive and fair globalization, and environmental sustainability. UNIDO's mission is to promote and accelerate inclusive and sustainable industrial development in Member States, aligning with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and SDG-9. The Directorate of SDG Innovation and Economic Transformation (IET), particularly the Division of Climate and Technology Partnerships (IET/CTP), focuses on developing innovative climate and technology programs to support Member States in achieving net-zero industrial development and climate commitments.
Job Purpose
To provide technical support for the smooth and timely execution of projects within the Division of Climate and Technology Partnerships, ensuring the achievement of project results and contributing to UNIDO's mandate in promoting sustainable industrial development and climate action.
Responsibilities
Execute and monitor projects/programme implementation, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget adherence. Coordinate project execution, including supervising consultants and partners, preparing project inputs, and monitoring progress and expenditures. Manage external relations with stakeholders, including government institutions, international entities, financial institutions, the private sector, and academia. Establish partnerships on hydrogen and other relevant climate technologies. Support advocacy, communication, and global forum activities. Contribute to fund mobilization strategies for follow-up projects on climate technologies and renewable energies.
Work Experience
A minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience with a first-level university degree, or 5 years with an advanced degree, or 3 years with a Doctorate. Progressively responsible professional experience, including international level, in project execution or coordination, particularly in hydrogen, energy-related topics, project management, and partnership development is required. Experience in applying Results-Based Management (RBM) principles and stakeholder engagement is required. Experience evaluating needs in developing countries and in technical cooperation projects in Asia and Africa, as well as experience in all phases of the Project Cycle, are desirable.
