The Directorate of SDG Innovation and Economic Transformation (IET) drives innovative services in agro-industry, sustainability standards, and climate-relevant technologies, identifying new finance sources and partnerships. The Division of Fair Production, Sustainability Standards and Trade (IET/PST) focuses on local industrial production and trade, building capacities and fostering a conducive business environment. The Sustainable Investments and Responsible Business Unit (IET/PST/SIB) promotes sustainability standards and responsible investments in value chains, supporting Member States in monitoring contributions to economic, social, and environmental sustainability.
Job Purpose
To support UNIDO's projects focused on business-friendly and inclusive national/regional policies, strengthening productive capabilities and value chains, and advancing resilient, low-carbon industrial and economic development along the Lobito Corridor. The role involves capacity building for investment promotion institutions, facilitating investment opportunities, and coordinating with national counterparts and international partners.
Responsibilities
Serve as UNIDO's focal point in Angola, providing continuity and follow-up after business forums. Support matchmaking between project promoters and investors, and provide technical assistance to improve investment readiness. Facilitate stakeholder engagement with key decision-makers and institutions. Contribute to the formulation of multi-country programs, including data gathering and consultations. Coordinate with corridor institutions and partners, representing UNIDO in relevant meetings.
Work Experience
Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in investment promotion within technical cooperation, industrial development, financial analysis, or banking. Experience in developing countries and working in multi-cultural teams is desirable. Certification as a UNIDO Trainer on Project Appraisal with COMFAR Software is an asset.
