Senior Information Management Administrator (M365 & SharePoint Online)
Organizational Context
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) promotes industrial development for poverty reduction, inclusive globalization, and environmental sustainability. UNIDO's mission is to promote and accelerate inclusive and sustainable industrial development in Member States, aligning with the 2030 Agenda and SDG-9. The Directorate of Corporate Services and Operations (COR) manages UNIDO's resources, and the Digitalization, Innovation, and TC Optimization Services (COR/DIT) unit focuses on digital solutions and IT services. This position is within COR/DIT/DIG, responsible for IT and digitalization strategies, standards, and corporate IT services.
Job Purpose
To operationalize data governance within M365 and SharePoint Online, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of content through administration, configuration, and support of governance tools and processes.
Responsibilities
Administer M365 and SharePoint Online for data governance, including access controls, sharing settings, and lifecycle processes. Support the deployment and maintenance of Microsoft Purview capabilities (sensitivity labels, DLP). Assist with records and retention governance and disposition processes. Define and maintain metadata, taxonomy, and content types. Conduct operational checks and follow up on governance tooling alerts. Support the maintenance and improvement of workflows and low-code automations for governance and information management. Contribute to integration requirements between M365/SharePoint Online and business systems. Maintain technical documentation and SOPs.
Work Experience
Minimum 7 years of experience in ICT and/or information management support, with at least 3 years directly supporting M365 and SharePoint Online platforms (tenant configuration, permissions, data protection, labeling, metadata, workflows, user support). If holding a university degree, 5 years of relevant experience is required. Strong understanding of Microsoft cloud architecture and administration tools. Hands-on experience with M365 data protection and compliance tools (Microsoft Purview). Hands-on experience with SharePoint Online information architecture, permissions, lifecycle, and records governance. Good organizing, prioritization, and problem-solving skills. Understanding of IT Service Management processes. Proficiency with office productivity applications.
