Organizational Context
UNIDO promotes inclusive and sustainable industrial development for poverty reduction, environmental sustainability, and fair globalization, aligning with the 2030 Agenda and SDG-9. The Directorate of Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Industrial Development (TCS) supports SDGs through industrial policy advice and capacity development. The Division of Climate Innovation and Montreal Protocol (TCS/CMP) assists Member States in adopting low-carbon and climate-resilient industrial solutions, promoting innovation and facilitating technology transfer. The Climate Technology Innovation Unit (TCS/CMP/CTI) specifically supports Member States in fostering innovation across technologies, finance, policy, and regulation for climate adaptation and resilience.
Job Purpose
To support projects focused on promoting climate adaptation and resilience through innovation and entrepreneurship for green jobs in various countries, by reducing climate vulnerability and enhancing resilience of communities through innovation, technology transfer, and deployment of adaptation solutions via the private sector.
Responsibilities
Compile background information on economic and social factors; design and draft supporting documents; coordinate data collection and verification; check project documents for clarity and completeness. Monitor project progress, investigate activities, and discuss findings. Maintain project documentation systems. Assist in monitoring project execution, retrieving data on status, outcomes, KPIs, and risks. Draft reports and conduct research. Arrange briefings and tours for visitors.
Work Experience
At least one year of relevant work experience, including practical application in technical cooperation activities. Experience in evaluating needs, conditions, and problems in developing countries is desirable. Ability to research, analyze information, write clearly, and work effectively in multicultural teams is desirable.
Skills
Research and analysis, report writing, project support, data compilation, understanding of technical cooperation activities, ability to work in multicultural teams.
