Investigations Assistant
Organizational Context
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is a specialized UN agency promoting inclusive and sustainable industrial development (ISID) for poverty reduction, inclusive globalization, and environmental sustainability. Job Purpose
To provide comprehensive support in the development and administration of investigations, alongside clerical and administrative assistance, under the supervision of a Senior Investigator.
Responsibilities
Acts as alternate Intake Officer for misconduct allegations, maintaining registers, preparing statistics, and drafting reports. Assists investigators in fact-finding, conducting preliminary evaluations for non-complex cases, participating in interviews, collating evidence, and preparing reports for disciplinary processes. Supports the preparation of presentations and annual activity reports for oversight bodies. Provides general office support, including drafting correspondence, managing files, coordinating administrative services, assisting with training materials, and preparing investigation work products for electronic storage. Implements new investigation techniques. Manages ERP platform tasks related to recruitment, consultants, training, procurement, payments, travel, and budget monitoring. Coordinates with relevant directorates and offices on procurement, external training contracts, and staff recruitment processes. Coordinates with the Investigations team on general coverage and administrative matters. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work Experience
A minimum of eight years of work experience providing support to managerial/professional staff, utilizing administrative skills in office execution, development, and implementation is required. Experience in office procedures and practices, preferably within the UN system or a multicultural environment, is required. Experience with SAP or similar ERP software and investigation software (e.g., case management systems, TopDesk) is desirable. Basic knowledge of financial matters, audit, and investigative techniques, procedures, and standards is desirable.
Skills
