Job Purpose
To coordinate the development of Belize's green and blue industrial policy, including attendant policy instruments, implementation plan, and monitoring and evaluation framework, in alignment with UNIDO methodologies, international best practices, and national policy priorities. The role involves enhancing the policy-making capacity of the Belizean policy ecosystem through analysis, stakeholder consultations, and capacity building activities.
Responsibilities
Lead the development of Belize’s green and blue Industrial Policy, its instruments, implementation plan, and M&E framework. Coordinate all activities for policy drafting, ensuring quality and monitoring. Conduct economic and industrial sector analysis to inform policy. Support the recruitment and supervision of a national analytical policy support team. Organize and contribute to stakeholder consultations. Prepare reports and technical documentation. Liaise with project counterparts and disseminate project activities.
Work Experience
At least seven (7) years of professional experience in coordinating development/technical cooperation programmes/projects or policy formulation. Strong understanding of Belize's economic structure, productive sectors, and policy environment is required. Experience in evidence-based analysis, industrial policy, or sector development is required. Experience in policy formulation is required. Familiarity with UNIDO's industrial policy methodology and proven ability to coordinate teams and manage policy research processes are desirable.
