Job Purpose

The Programme Associate (G-6) provides specialized programme and administrative support under the guidance of the Deputy Representative (Programmes) to facilitate the development, implementation, and monitoring of UNICEF's programmes. This role involves significant engagement in data analysis, budget tracking, reporting, and coordination with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective program delivery and compliance with organizational rules and procedures. The incumbent is expected to exercise judgment, anticipate needs, and recommend actions that contribute to successful programme planning, implementation, and reporting. The position requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to manage challenges, and effective coordination across different office units and with external partners, upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

The Programme Associate (G-6) is responsible for providing comprehensive support within a UNICEF programme section, reporting to a Supervisor or Section Chief. Key functions include Project Management and Implementing Partnership Coordination, ensuring effective collaboration with government ministries, NGOs, and other external partners. The role involves Data Management, Analysis & Reporting, handling and interpreting programme-related data to inform decision-making. Grant Management, Budget Monitoring and Reporting are crucial, requiring diligent tracking of financial resources and donor contributions. The incumbent will also contribute to Digital Innovation & Operational Efficiency initiatives, seeking ways to improve processes. Communication, Knowledge Sharing and Dissemination activities will involve sharing programme insights and best practices. Capacity Building & Event Coordination for partners and staff, as well as providing Flexibility & Surge Support during critical periods, are also key duties. The role bridges operational delivery by liaising with Programme, Operations, Finance, and Supply units.

Work Experience

At least 6 years of relevant work experience in administration, administrative experience, clerical work experience, and any other related fields.
