Organizational Context

UNICEF works in over 190 countries to save children’s lives, defend their rights, and help them fulfill their potential. In Tajikistan, facing a shift in development financing, UNICEF is strategically enhancing private sector engagement to mobilize resources and influence for children's well-being, moving beyond traditional aid.

Job Purpose

This consultancy aims to bolster UNICEF Tajikistan's strategic shift towards private sector engagement by developing the necessary analysis, strategy, and partnership documentation. The goal is to transform nascent relationships, initiated through events like the Charity Gala Dinner and the establishment of the Nasli 2050 Business Advisory Group, into a structured and high-value corporate partnership portfolio. The consultant will be instrumental in establishing the Business Advisory Group as a fully functional platform with a clear work program for 2027-2028, ensuring that private sector partnerships actively contribute to achieving positive outcomes for children in Tajikistan, aligning with the new Country Programme Document and the Private Sector Engagement Strategy.

Responsibilities

Develop comprehensive analysis and strategic frameworks to guide UNICEF Tajikistan's private sector engagement efforts. Create detailed partnership models and documentation to formalize relationships with corporations, focusing on both leveraging initiatives and resource mobilization. Support the establishment and operationalization of the Nasli 2050 Business Advisory Group, including developing its work program, governance structure, and engagement protocols. Facilitate high-level meetings and discussions between UNICEF leadership and private sector representatives to foster collaboration and co-investment in child-focused solutions. Identify and cultivate potential corporate partners, mapping their interests and aligning them with UNICEF's strategic priorities. Develop compelling proposals and pitches for corporate partnerships, highlighting mutual benefits and impact for children. Monitor and report on the progress of private sector engagement initiatives, tracking key performance indicators and identifying areas for improvement. Ensure that all partnership activities are aligned with UNICEF's global and national strategies, policies, and ethical standards. Provide technical expertise and guidance to the LEAP Section and other relevant UNICEF staff on corporate partnership development and management. Contribute to building internal capacity within UNICEF Tajikistan for sustained private sector engagement beyond the consultancy period.
