Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to coordinate and support demand for Technology for Development programmatic support. UNICEF Programmes increasingly leverage digital means for effective programme delivery, systems strengthening and monitoring. The T4D Specialist will work with programme teams in the identification, assessment and integration of ICTs and digital innovation into UNICEF programming; strengthening internal capacity to lead and support T4D-related initiatives; identifying and engaging with external partners and vendors for T4D solutions; and ensuring that T4D initiatives align with UNICEF’s strategic priorities and contribute to achieving results for children. This position is crucial for enhancing UNICEF's ability to utilize digital technologies effectively to address complex development challenges and improve outcomes for children in Bangladesh.
Responsibilities
The Digital Impact Specialist reports at country level to the Deputy Representative Operations, with a dotted line to the Deputy Representative Programmes, and works in close collaboration with the Regional Chief of Digital Impact. The role involves coordinating and supporting the demand for Technology for Development (T4D) programmatic support. This includes working closely with programme teams to identify, assess, and integrate Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and digital innovations into UNICEF's programming across various sectors. The specialist will be responsible for strengthening the internal capacity of UNICEF staff to lead and support T4D-related initiatives, providing technical guidance and training. Furthermore, the role entails identifying and engaging with external partners, vendors, and technology providers to develop and implement innovative T4D solutions. Ensuring that all T4D initiatives are aligned with UNICEF’s strategic priorities, ethical guidelines, and contribute to achieving measurable results for children is a key responsibility. This includes monitoring and evaluating the impact of T4D interventions and promoting knowledge sharing and best practices within the country office and the region.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of professional experience in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for development, digital innovation, or related fields is required. Experience in project management and working with UN or international organizations is an asset.
