Job Purpose

The National Micronutrient Survey Coordinator will provide essential support in the operational coordination, day-to-day follow-up, documentation, and routine status reporting for the implementation of the Nepal National Micronutrient Survey (NNMS) in 2026. The primary objective is to ensure all survey components are executed smoothly, adhere to the schedule, remain within budget, and fully align with established quality standards and stakeholder expectations. This role is crucial for generating reliable, nationally representative biomarker and dietary intake data. The Coordinator will work closely with the Ministry of Health and Food Safety and the Family Welfare Division, reporting to the Chief of Nutrition and collaborating with the Monitoring & Evaluation Officer.

Responsibilities

The National Micronutrient Survey Coordinator is responsible for providing comprehensive support to the operational coordination of the NNMS. This includes managing day-to-day follow-up activities, ensuring meticulous documentation of progress, and preparing routine status reports. The role demands ensuring that all aspects of the survey, from field operations to data collection and quality assurance, run smoothly and on schedule. The coordinator must ensure the project stays within its allocated budget and meets all quality standards and stakeholder expectations. This involves close collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Food Safety and the Family Welfare Division. Key responsibilities include facilitating cross-sectoral collaboration, supporting the implementation of survey components, and ensuring alignment with national policies and protocols. The coordinator will also assist in managing relationships with various partners and stakeholders involved in the survey, contributing to the overall success of generating critical micronutrient data for Nepal.

Work Experience

Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible professional work experience at national and international levels in coordinating, designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating large-scale population surveys, grant management, documentation, and report writing.

Operational execution of large-scale household surveys, Field sequencing and quality assurance, Full-lifecycle survey implementation, Biological sample collection protocols, Cold-chain management, Sample processing and laboratory transfer, Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) workflows, Real-time data flow architectures, Field level data quality validation, Program monitoring and evaluation frameworks, Ethical review procedures and biosafety standards, Ability to perform under pressure
