Job Purpose
This internship within the Director's Office of the Global Programme Division (GPD) offers a unique opportunity to contribute to UNICEF's thought leadership and enhance its global visibility. The intern will support the Director in shaping strategic communications and driving initiatives that influence global policies and partnerships. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in content creation, digital engagement, and research within an international development context. It is an ideal starting point for a career in international organizations, allowing interns to apply academic knowledge in a professional setting, develop methodological, social, and technical competencies, and gain valuable experience. Responsibilities
The intern will be responsible for managing the Director's digital presence, specifically focusing on LinkedIn content creation and engagement. This includes developing and maintaining a pipeline of LinkedIn blogs and articles to enhance visibility and influence global policies and partnerships, ensuring consistent content frequency. The role involves tracking and analyzing LinkedIn performance using established KPIs to assess reach, engagement, and influence, and preparing monthly performance reports with actionable recommendations for the Director. Additionally, the intern will coordinate inputs for external-facing content from internal teams and partners to ensure timely publication and alignment with strategic messaging. A key responsibility is conducting targeted research and analysis on emerging issues, partner priorities, and strategic questions within a defined theme, translating findings into analytical and public-facing outputs like thought pieces and articles. The intern will also contribute to structured knowledge sharing by supporting the development and organization of thought leadership assets, such as journals or field notes, thereby enriching UNICEF's intellectual capital and supporting its mission to protect vulnerable populations.
Work Experience
Previous internship or volunteer experience in communications, content creation, research, or project support is desirable. Experience with digital platforms like LinkedIn and data analysis tools is a plus.
