National Consultant to Support Training of Lao Youth Union Hotline Staff

Job Purpose
The National Consultant will support the training of Lao Youth Union (LYU) hotline staff in Lao PDR. This consultancy contributes to the UNICEF Lao PDR Country Programme 2022-2026, specifically focusing on strengthening the child protection system. The goal is to ensure that more children are better protected from violence, abuse, neglect, exploitation, and harmful practices, benefiting from improved child protection systems, services, and behaviors. The consultant will play a key role in enhancing the capacity of government and service providers to deliver integrated, gender- and disability-responsive child protection and childcare services.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for developing a comprehensive training package on the Child Protection LYU Hotline. This package will include a PowerPoint presentation and a facilitator's guide, informed by a thorough review of existing materials such as LYU Hotline guidelines/SOPs, Social and Behavioral Change Manual, Life Skills Manual, and international best practices. The consultant will also be tasked with conducting training sessions for the LYU hotline staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively manage the hotline. This includes facilitating interactive learning, providing guidance on handling sensitive cases, and reinforcing international standards for child protection services. The consultant will work under the supervision of the Child Protection Specialist and in close collaboration with the Child Protection Officer, ensuring alignment with UNICEF's strategic objectives and the country programme.
Work Experience
At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in child protection, training, or programme support, preferably within a UN or international organization context. Experience in developing training materials and facilitating workshops is essential.
