Job Purpose

The consultancy, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Youth Storytelling, Engagement and Learning Generation, under the direct supervision of the Global Mental Health Lead, will significantly contribute to the development, coordination, and implementation of a multi-country youth storytelling, engagement, and learning generation plan. This initiative is crucial for the internal and external promotion and dissemination of content designed to support the mental health of young people. The role is integral to the UNICEF/Spotify 5-year partnership and the UNICEF/Pinterest research project focusing on 'Young People’s Perceptions of AI, Digital Mental Health Tools, and Online Safety'. The consultant will play a key role in amplifying the impact of these critical mental health initiatives for youth.

Responsibilities

The consultant will support and collaborate on the development, coordination, and implementation of a multi-country youth storytelling, engagement, and learning generation plan. This includes facilitating the creation and dissemination of content that promotes youth mental health. The role involves working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective promotion and outreach for the generated content. The consultant will contribute to the UNICEF/Spotify 5-year partnership and the UNICEF/Pinterest research project, focusing on young people's perceptions of AI, digital mental health tools, and online safety. Key responsibilities include managing project timelines, coordinating activities across different countries, and ensuring the quality and impact of storytelling outputs. The consultant will also be involved in analyzing social media metrics and other data to refine strategies and enhance engagement. Direct experience in interviewing young people on sensitive topics and facilitating focus group discussions will be essential for gathering authentic narratives and insights. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

Work Experience

At least 5 years of experience in communications/marketing, writing/editing, publications, project management, and strategic outreach. Experience in social behavior change, interviewing young people on sensitive topics, supporting youth storytelling, and working in global mental health is essential.
