Job Purpose
The Communication Officer (Digital) will assist in planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating an advocacy and communication strategy to bring children’s and women’s issues into the public domain. This role aims to strengthen political will in support of UNICEF's mission and objectives within the country, thereby enhancing the organization’s credibility and brand. The incumbent will be instrumental in producing digital multimedia content, managing social media platforms, ensuring donor visibility, maintaining UNICEF Syria’s website, executing digital advocacy campaigns, and developing communication branding for events and campaigns. Furthermore, the role involves contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of communication activities, including those conducted during emergencies, ensuring effective outreach and impact.
Responsibilities
The Communication Officer (Digital) is responsible for the production of diverse digital communication materials, including multimedia content, graphics, and written assets tailored for various online platforms. This includes the ongoing maintenance and updating of UNICEF Syria’s social media channels and website to ensure content is current, engaging, and aligned with organizational messaging. The role also involves developing and executing branding strategies for special events and campaigns, ensuring consistent visual identity and messaging across all touchpoints. A key function is integrating and actively participating in global UNICEF priorities and campaigns, adapting them for local relevance and impact. The officer will also be tasked with monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of communication activities, providing data-driven insights to optimize strategies and reporting on key performance indicators. This includes tracking engagement metrics, audience reach, and overall campaign success, particularly in dynamic emergency contexts, to inform future communication efforts and demonstrate accountability.
Work Experience
A minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience in communication, print and broadcast media, interactive digital media, or any other related fields.
