Job Purpose
The Programme Officer (Hayah Karima) will support UNICEF’s coordination, visibility, and reporting roles within the EU-Haya Karima programme. This joint initiative, implemented by UNICEF, WHO, and ILO, aims to improve the quality of life for rural populations affected by multidimensional poverty. The role involves ensuring coherence across partners, alignment with donor requirements, and contributing to the programme's specific objectives of improved access to health services and strengthened social protection systems. The officer will work under the supervision of the Chief of Social Policy and Child Rights monitoring, collaborating closely with UNICEF leadership, programme teams, and focal points from ILO and WHO.
Responsibilities
The Programme Officer will be responsible for supporting UNICEF’s coordination, visibility, and reporting within the EU-Haya Karima programme. Key functions include ensuring coherence across implementing partners (ILO, WHO) and alignment with donor requirements. This involves managing coordination and internal alignment processes, overseeing contracts and formal agreements, facilitating stakeholder consultations and partnerships, and providing partnership and field support. The role also entails planning and workplan management, monitoring results and managing risks, and overseeing budget monitoring and financial oversight. Additionally, the officer will contribute to communication, knowledge management, and visibility efforts, and be responsible for reporting and consolidation of information. This position requires close collaboration with the Representative, Deputy Representative Programme, UNICEF Partnership and programme teams, and focal points from ILO and WHO.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in project coordination or management, preferably within development, humanitarian, or government programmes, is required.
