Job Purpose

The Child Protection Officer reports to the Chief, Child Protection for supervision. The Child Protection Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for child protection programmes/projects (and in particular the Access to Justice pillar) within the Country Programme (2026 – 2030) from development planning to delivery of results. Incumbent prepares, executes, manages, and implements a variety of technical and administrative programme tasks to facilitate programme development, implementation, programme progress monitoring, evaluating and reporting. This role is crucial for ensuring that children's rights are protected and their potential is fulfilled within the country's program framework.

Responsibilities

Support to programme development and planning: Contribute to the development and planning of child protection programmes, aligning with the Country Programme (2026-2030) and the Access to Justice pillar. Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results: Manage, monitor, and ensure the effective delivery of results for child protection programmes and projects. Technical and operational support to programme implementation: Provide technical expertise and operational assistance for the successful implementation of child protection initiatives. Networking and partnership building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with government bodies, NGOs, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to foster collaboration and support child protection efforts. Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building: Promote innovation in child protection, manage knowledge effectively, and contribute to building the capacity of partners and staff in relevant areas.

Work Experience

A minimum of two years of professional experience in social development planning and management in child protection related areas is required.
