Job Purpose
The purpose of this consultancy is to provide crucial support for the implementation of the Impact Catalyst Fund (ICF) thematic windows focusing on child marriage and social norms, and violence in schools. Additionally, the consultant will be instrumental in scoping, developing, and accompanying broader impact evaluation opportunities. These evaluations will specifically address adolescent girls, violence, and child protection issues, aligning with the Power4Girls initiative and other demand-driven portfolios. The role is essential for advancing UNICEF's strategic priorities in generating and utilizing rigorous impact evaluations to inform programs and demonstrate achievement of targets, particularly in areas requiring evidence-based solutions for the world's most vulnerable children.
Responsibilities
Support the implementation of the Impact Catalyst Fund (ICF) thematic windows on child marriage and social norms, and violence in schools. Undertake activities related to the scoping, development, and accompaniment of impact evaluations. Focus on adolescent girls, violence, and child protection issues within the Power4Girls initiative and other demand-driven portfolios. Contribute to the generation and use of rigorous impact evaluations to inform UNICEF programs and demonstrate achievement of targets. Ensure quality and adherence to norms and standards in evaluation processes. Collaborate with regional evaluation teams and country offices to facilitate evidence-based solutions. Assist in the development of evaluation methodologies and tools. Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify impacts and inform programmatic strategies. Prepare reports and presentations on evaluation findings for various stakeholders. Stay abreast of current research and evidence on child marriage, violence against children, and adolescent well-being.
Work Experience
Over 5 years of professional experience in leading or contributing to rigorous impact evaluations, including design, preparation, and implementation in low-income settings. Experience collecting primary data (quantitative/qualitative) on violence against children, with knowledge of ethical protocols. Familiarity with UNICEF's mandate and evidence generation standards for child-focused evaluations.
