Job Purpose

The Nutrition Officer provides professional technical, operational, and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for nutrition programmes and projects within the Country Programme, from development planning to delivery of results. The incumbent implements a variety of technical and administrative programme tasks to facilitate programme development, implementation, progress monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of results. This role is crucial in supporting the fundamental mission of UNICEF to promote the rights of every child, everywhere, in everything the organization does, with a particular focus on equity for the most disadvantaged and excluded children and families.

Responsibilities

Support programme development and planning, ensuring alignment with UNICEF's equity strategy and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Manage, monitor, and deliver results for nutrition programmes and projects, ensuring timely and effective implementation. Provide technical and operational support to programme implementation, focusing on community-based interventions and Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices. Foster networking and partnership building with government counterparts, NGOs, and other stakeholders to enhance programme reach and impact. Drive innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building among partners and staff to strengthen nutrition interventions. This includes facilitating training, sharing best practices, and contributing to the evidence base for nutrition programming in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Work Experience

At least 2 years of relevant work experience in Nutrition, Health and Nutrition, public health, maternal and child health, infant and young child feeding, program management, monitoring and evaluation, or any other related fields.
