Job Purpose

The consultancy aims to provide technical and operational support for the effective implementation, coordination, monitoring, and documentation of UNICEF-supported nutrition programmes in Eritrea. This role will focus on adolescent nutrition, micronutrient deficiency control, food systems transformation, and nutrition supply management. The consultant will work closely with government partners, other UN agencies, and stakeholders to strengthen interventions, advance food systems initiatives, and improve supply management for essential nutrition commodities, ultimately contributing to national priorities for reducing malnutrition and improving nutrition outcomes.

Responsibilities

The consultant will provide technical and operational support for the implementation, coordination, monitoring, and documentation of adolescent nutrition, micronutrient deficiency control, food system transformation, and nutrition supply management activities. This includes supporting knowledge management on adolescent nutrition and the introduction of Multiple Micronutrient Supplement (MMS). The consultant will assist in planning and implementing baseline assessments for integrated adolescent nutrition interventions and pilot studies for MMS for pregnant women. They will develop presentations, briefing notes, and communication materials, and compile, analyze, and synthesize programme data to inform improvements. For food systems transformation, the consultant will document achievements, best practices, and lessons learned related to healthy diets. In nutrition supply management, they will support the development of monitoring tools, databases, and reporting systems, monitor warehouse inventory, and contribute to strengthening supply management processes.

Work Experience

At least two years of professional experience in nutrition programme support, public health, or a related area. Experience in programme coordination, monitoring, and documentation is desirable.
