National Vaccine Management (VM) Consultant

Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to strengthen national immunization systems in Tajikistan, aligning with the National Immunization Programme 2026-2030. The consultant will provide technical assistance to complement ongoing country support in critical areas such as vaccine cold chain strengthening, vaccine supply planning, and forecasting. The role is crucial for ensuring the effective management and distribution of vaccines, thereby contributing to improved child health outcomes and the overall success of immunization initiatives within the country. This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on public health in Tajikistan.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for providing technical expertise to enhance vaccine management (VM) within Tajikistan. This includes supporting the strengthening of the vaccine cold chain infrastructure, ensuring optimal storage conditions, and maintaining vaccine integrity throughout the supply chain. The consultant will also be involved in vaccine supply planning and forecasting, utilizing data analysis to predict needs and prevent stockouts or wastage. Key activities will involve coordinating with the Republican Center of Immunoprophylaxis (RCIP) and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate effective vaccine distribution and management. Developing detailed vaccine distribution plans, optimizing the use of cold chain equipment, and ensuring the efficiency of immunization supply chains are also core responsibilities. Furthermore, the consultant will be expected to enforce national immunization guidelines and provide tailored training for health workers as needed, contributing to the overall capacity building of the national immunization program.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience is required, with at least 3 years specifically in immunization, vaccine logistics, and public health. This should include experience in monitoring National Immunization Programs and providing training for health workers. Advanced knowledge of vaccine storage, cold chain infrastructure, inventory policies, and distribution strategies is essential. Proficiency in analyzing vaccine stock data and using digital tools for logistics management is also required.
