Job Purpose
This role supports UNICEF's mission by bridging operational delivery and programme execution in Venezuela, particularly in the context of a significant humanitarian emergency following earthquakes. The Programme Associate (G-6) will liaise with various internal units (Programme, Operations, Finance, Supply) and external partners (government, NGOs, donors) to ensure effective and timely support to children and communities. The incumbent will contribute to strengthening the organization's operational capacity to deliver child-centered humanitarian responses, focusing on areas such as child protection, health, education, WASH, and psychosocial support. This position is crucial for ensuring that UNICEF can effectively address the complex needs arising from the emergency and uphold the rights of every child in Venezuela.
Responsibilities
The Programme Associate (G-6) will be responsible for supporting the effective implementation of UNICEF's programmes and emergency response in Venezuela. Key accountabilities include: Project Management and Implementing Partnership Coordination, ensuring that projects are implemented according to plans and in coordination with partners. Data Management, Analysis & Reporting, involving the collection, analysis, and reporting of programme data to inform decision-making and track progress. Grant Management, Budget Monitoring and Reporting, to ensure financial resources are managed effectively and transparently. Digital Innovation & Operational Efficiency, by identifying and applying digital tools to improve programme delivery and operational processes. Communication, Knowledge Sharing and Dissemination, to share lessons learned and best practices. Capacity Building & Event Coordination, supporting training activities and organizing relevant events. Flexibility & Surge Support, providing adaptable support across various programme areas and in response to evolving needs, especially in emergency contexts. The role requires close collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve programme objectives and uphold UNICEF's commitment to children's rights.
Work Experience
Minimum of six (6) years of progressive administrative or clerical work experience is required. Experience in programme support, project coordination, or a similar role within a humanitarian or development context is highly desirable.
