Job Purpose

UNICEF's Asia Pacific Regional Office (APRO) seeks to enhance and expand its engagement with various entities in Singapore, recognizing its growing influence as a regional thought leader. This consultancy aims to streamline and scale up interactions with government, academia, civil society, philanthropies, foundations, and the private sector. The consultant will lead a mapping exercise to analyze current and past engagements, developing a comprehensive UNICEF-Singapore Engagement Strategy. The goal is to identify and co-create future collaboration opportunities, leveraging Singapore's expertise to advance children's rights across the region and inform UNICEF's strategic partnerships.

Responsibilities

The consultant will report to the Head of UNICEF APRO’s Public Partnerships Team, collaborating with various APRO teams and other UNICEF offices. Responsibilities include providing strategic analysis and recommendations for partnership development in Singapore, prioritizing engagement with government, academia, civil society, and the private sector to inform a coherent engagement strategy. Key deliverables include a prioritized partner mapping of current and potential entities, identifying 5-10 collaboration opportunities for the next 6-12 months. The consultant will also assess Singapore's 2027 ASEAN Chairmanship priorities (e.g., youth participation, AI, climate, health) against UNICEF's regional objectives, developing a concept for collaboration during this period. Additionally, a preliminary long-term partnership strategy and roadmap for UNICEF-Singapore (2027-2028 onwards) will be developed, identifying objectives and activities to leverage Singapore's experience and influence for children's results across ASEAN and the Asia-Pacific. The consultant will support meetings, missions, and provide weekly progress updates.

Work Experience

A minimum of five years of professional experience in partnership development, stakeholder engagement, or strategic planning, preferably within an international organization or in a cross-sectoral collaboration context. Experience in the Asia-Pacific region is an asset.
