In Mali, UNICEF leads the WASH and Nutrition Clusters, coordinating efforts with national authorities and NGOs to ensure a concerted approach to humanitarian and development nexus interventions.
Job Purpose
The Information Management Officer (IMO) is a key member of the WASH and Nutrition Clusters coordination team. The role is responsible for managing, improving, analyzing, and disseminating data and information to support evidence-based strategic decision-making by cluster partners. This position contributes to enhancing the quality of coordination, response monitoring, intervention planning, and advocacy efforts. The IMO will also provide technical support to UNICEF's WASH and Nutrition sections in managing, analyzing, and leveraging sectoral data, including program, evaluation, and survey data, ensuring effective cluster functions and accountability to affected populations.
Responsibilities
The Information Management Officer will support the provision of services and results by managing and updating humanitarian reporting platforms (OCHA's RPM, ActivityInfo), and collecting, analyzing, visualizing, and disseminating data for response monitoring, advocacy, decision-making, and resource mobilization. The role involves assisting in strategic decision-making by ensuring data availability and quality for cluster partners. The IMO will contribute to advocacy and communication by providing data-driven insights. They will monitor the implementation of the WASH and Nutrition clusters' strategies and results, ensuring accountability to affected populations through accurate data reporting. Additionally, the officer will provide support to UNICEF's WASH and Nutrition sections in data management and analysis, working closely with national authorities and cluster partners to effectively fulfill the seven fundamental cluster coordination functions.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of professional experience in information management, data analysis, or a related field, preferably within a humanitarian or development context. Experience with humanitarian coordination mechanisms and reporting tools is desirable.
