Job Purpose

The UNICEF Uzbekistan Education Programme focuses on strengthening the education system, improving quality and inclusivity in teaching and learning, enhancing early childhood education and school readiness, and promoting youth engagement and skills development. This internship aims to support the Education Section in implementing these priorities by providing crucial assistance in data management, logistical organization, and administrative coordination. The intern will contribute to the efficient execution of programme activities, ensuring that UNICEF's efforts to provide equitable access to quality education for all children and adolescents in Uzbekistan are effectively supported.

Responsibilities

The intern will provide essential support to the Education Section by assisting with data collection, knowledge management, and organization of programme and monitoring data, including updating shared databases, spreadsheets, and digital filing systems. They will help in organizing and preparing documentation, presentations, and reports related to education programme activities. Furthermore, the intern will offer logistical and administrative support for meetings, workshops, and missions of international consultants, which involves coordinating with participants and preparing necessary materials. They will also liaise with programme officers to support their respective areas of work and perform short translations as needed. The intern is expected to maintain confidentiality of all unpublished information and not publish any reports based on obtained information without written authorization. Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor will also be part of their responsibilities, ensuring comprehensive support to the programme's objectives.

Work Experience

Previous work experience in projects, programme initiatives, administration, and coordination of events is considered an additional asset. Good organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to collect, manage, and analyze data, and proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams) are also beneficial.
