Job Purpose
The Child Protection Specialist reports to the Chief Field Office and technically to the Child Protection Specialist (Head of Section). This role supports the development, planning, management, implementation, monitoring, reporting, and evaluation of child protection programmes/projects within the country programme. The specialist provides technical guidance and management support throughout the programming processes. The objective is to facilitate the administration and achievement of concrete and sustainable contributions to national and international efforts to create a protective environment for children against all harm, and to protect their rights as established under the Convention on the Rights of the Child, international treaties/frameworks, and UN intergovernmental bodies.
Responsibilities
Key functions include supporting programme development and planning, ensuring effective programme management, monitoring, and delivery of results. The role provides essential technical and operational support to programme implementation, fostering networking and partnership building with relevant stakeholders. Additionally, the Child Protection Specialist is responsible for driving innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building within the child protection sector. This involves contributing to the creation of a protective environment for children against all forms of harm and ensuring their rights are upheld in line with international standards and conventions.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of professional experience in the social sector, specifically in development, planning, and/or management related to child protection areas, is required.
