Job Purpose
The State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF) “Nicolae Testemițanu” is launching a new Master's Degree Programme in Public Health – Health Promotion and Protection. This programme aims to equip public professionals with advanced competencies in promoting and protecting health, addressing health determinants and inequities, and designing, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based interventions. UNICEF and USMF are collaborating to develop a specific module on "Health Promotion and Behaviour Change" for this master's programme. The curriculum will focus on building students' understanding of behavioural determinants, conducting diagnoses, developing interventions, and applying monitoring and evaluation approaches, drawing on global best practices and UNICEF's expertise to address Moldova's public health priorities.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the UNICEF Moldova SBC Officer and in close collaboration with USMF, the international individual consultant will support the development of the "Health Promotion and Behaviour Change" curriculum for the Master's Programme in Health Promotion and Protection. This involves ensuring alignment with international SBC standards, contemporary behavioural science approaches, and the competency needs of Moldova's public workforce. The consultant will develop a comprehensive SBC curriculum package, including a detailed syllabus, module description, lecture and seminar plans, and an assessment framework. Additionally, the consultant will create a teaching and learning package comprising PowerPoint presentations, case studies, practical exercises, group assignments, applied learning activities, tools, templates, worksheets, and an assessment package, all tailored to the Moldovan context and reflecting international best practices and UNICEF's experience in SBC.
Work Experience
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) programming, curriculum development, or public health. Experience in developing and delivering training modules is essential. Experience working in Eastern Europe or similar contexts is an asset.
