Job Purpose

The consultancy aims to develop content for the 'Education that Protects against Violence' strategy, building upon UNICEF's work since 2019 in developing and disseminating methodologies on the school community's role in preventing and responding to violence. This involves supporting governments in policy development and service strengthening to ensure education serves as a protective factor against violence. The consultant will contribute to creating knowledge products that synthesize existing studies, publications, and evidence, and will be responsible for the overall quality and impact of the content developed. This role is crucial for advancing UNICEF's mission to protect children's rights within the educational system in Brazil and potentially beyond, by producing accessible and impactful materials for education professionals and policymakers.

Responsibilities

Develop and edit journalistic and institutional content for education professionals focused on the 'Education that Protects against Violence' strategy. Review and analyze bibliographic references to ensure content is evidence-based and aligned with current research. Synthesize information from existing studies, publications, and evidence to create comprehensive knowledge products. Conduct interviews with relevant stakeholders to gather insights and perspectives for content development. Oversee and review graphic design and publication processes to ensure the final products are visually appealing and effectively communicate key messages. Ensure all content produced aligns with UNICEF's mission and the specific objectives of the 'Education that Protects against Violence' strategy. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to disseminate the developed content effectively. Contribute to the strengthening of policies and services that make education a protective factor against violence. Ensure the content is accessible and relevant to the target audience, including education professionals and policymakers. Maintain a high standard of quality in all deliverables, adhering to deadlines and project requirements.

Work Experience

10 years of professional experience in communications and in the production of journalistic and institutional content. Proven experience in developing and editing content for education professionals, and specifically on violence and education.
