Strategic Planning Manager, P-4, Fixed Term Position, Private Fund Raising and Partnerships

The Private Fundraising and Partnerships Division (PFP) is of strategic importance, especially during times of constrained ODA and funding cuts. UNICEF aims to maintain its sector lead in fundraising and engagement with supporters and the private sector.
Job Purpose
The Strategic Planning Manager is responsible for managing the Office of the PFP Director and providing quality support to the Director and the division's management team. This role is critical for the division's management, strategy, execution, and internal coordination across the private sector fundraising and partnerships ecosystem, acting as a de facto division-level Chief of Staff. The position involves coordinating with the People & Culture team to assess organizational trends, workforce concerns, and staff well-being, advising the Director on strategic issues requiring attention and follow-up. The manager will also serve as the Secretariat of the PFP Cabinet, supporting managerial excellence and division-wide management priorities such as change management, inter-divisional collaboration, internal communications, and HR/budget management.
Responsibilities
Manage the Office of the PFP Director, ensuring efficient operations and providing comprehensive support to the Director. Serve as the Secretariat for the PFP Cabinet, facilitating effective decision-making and supporting managerial excellence within the division. Support division-wide management priorities, including leading and coordinating change management processes, fostering collaboration with other UNICEF divisions, and overseeing internal communications strategies. Assist in the management of the division's budget and Human Resources matters, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and objectives. Play a critical role in the overall management of the division, contributing to strategy development, execution, and internal coordination across the entire private sector fundraising and partnerships ecosystem. Coordinate closely with the People & Culture team to assess organizational trends, address workforce concerns, and promote staff well-being, advising the Director on strategic issues requiring attention and follow-up. Ensure effective planning, coordination, and execution of strategic initiatives within the PFP division, contributing to the achievement of its objectives and UNICEF's broader mission.
Work Experience
A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant professional work experience in external relations, public affairs, or international development cooperation, preferably within the UN, a government institution, or an NGO.
