Job Purpose
This Temporary Appointment post is to cover maternity leave for one year. The Administrative Associate will contribute to the effective delivery of administrative and operational support services, ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of office operations and service delivery. The role supports a collaborative, inclusive, and well-organized work environment through reliable administrative support, effective coordination, and clear communication. The position requires solid, broad-based administrative experience, a strong understanding of organizational workflows, and the ability to work independently with professionalism, attention to detail, and a consistent focus on quality and deadlines. The Administrative Associate provides administrative management support and coordinates in carrying out administrative and selected specialized tasks, requiring practical knowledge of UNICEF administrative policies, procedures, and systems.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision and guidance of the supervisor, the Administrative Associate provides administrative management support and coordinates in carrying out administrative and selected specialized tasks. These services require a strong, practical knowledge of UNICEF administrative policies, procedures, and systems. Key functions include providing administrative support and services, office planning and project management, event planning and organization, and managing communications and workflow. The role involves ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of office operations and service delivery, supporting a collaborative and inclusive work environment through reliable administrative support, effective coordination, and clear communication. The position demands the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, while also handling confidential and sensitive communication and information with professionalism and attention to detail.
Work Experience
Minimum of six (6) years of relevant work experience in administration is required, preferably with the UN or other international organization. A completed BA degree counts as 3 years of experience, and a Master's degree counts as an additional 2 years. Experience in event planning and knowledge of UN/UNICEF rules is highly desirable.
