Job Purpose
The Senior Supply Associate will administer Health operations, requiring basic professional technical expertise to support high-quality EPI & health events related to UNICEF's country programme. This role is responsible for effective planning, procurement processes for GAVI projects, contract management, distribution, and inventory management of Health programme supplies. Additionally, the incumbent will process payments, coordinate with Health programme stakeholders, issue new requisitions, and track/report on EPI grant expenditures to achieve planned objectives aligned with Health program goals, strategy, and emergency preparedness plans.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Immunization Specialist, the incumbent administers Health operations, providing technical expertise for EPI & health events. Responsibilities include planning, following up on GAVI project procurement, contract management, distribution, and inventory management of Health programme supplies. The role also involves processing payments, coordinating with stakeholders, issuing requisitions, and tracking/reporting on EPI grant expenditures to meet work plan objectives and align with program goals and emergency plans. The incumbent will collaborate with UN agencies to accelerate Harmonized Business practices for Health programmes. They will provide administrative and logistical support to UNICEF and the Ministry of Health, Health/Nutrition Section, Immunization unit by streamlining external correspondences for smooth workflow and project implementation. This includes managing facilitation letters for vaccine and medicine shipments, ensuring temperature-controlled transportation and timely delivery to end-users, and addressing MoH and Government protocols impacting UNICEF's mandate in Syria.
Work Experience
At least 7 years of relevant work experience in Supply Management, Supply Management/Contracting/Logistics, supply chain management, procurement, logistics management, contract management, inventory management, cold chain logistics, immunization programs, humanitarian operations, finance, or International Economics.
