Job Purpose

The Health & Nutrition Officer provides professional technical assistance and support for the design, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and administration of programme/project activities. This includes data analysis, progress reporting, knowledge networking, and capacity building, all aligned with Health & Nutrition programme goals and strategies. The role ensures accurate information and data analysis are available for situation analysis and reporting, and provides technical assistance for integrated Health & Nutrition strategies. The officer is responsible for establishing work plans, delivering planned results through coordination, and enhancing project efficiency and effectiveness through follow-up and monitoring. Gender/sex disaggregated data and inputs are crucial for programme delivery and sustainability. Transparency in supply and non-supply assistance and fund disbursement is maintained. Effective partnerships are fostered for advocacy, coordination, and knowledge sharing. Up-to-date programme information and reports are shared with stakeholders, and emergency preparedness and response are maintained in line with Core Commitments for Children in Humanitarian Action.

Responsibilities

Provide technical assistance for the development and implementation of integrated Health & Nutrition strategies and approaches through participation and collaboration with internal and external partners. Effectively establish work plans and ensure timely delivery of planned results through technical support and coordination in consultation with all relevant partners. Enhance project efficiency and effectiveness through effective implementation follow-up and monitoring of project implementation progress for adjustment and improvement of program delivery and sustainability. Ensure gender/sex disaggregated data and inputs are provided relevant to the Health & Nutrition programme. Maintain transparency for supply and non-supply assistance and disbursement of programme funds for Health & Nutrition. Maintain effective partnership and working relationships for advocacy, technical coordination, information sharing, and knowledge networking. Keep up-to-date programme information available and prepare and share reports with relevant stakeholders as required to support the Health & Nutrition programme by the effective implementation of integrated monitoring system. Maintain emergency preparedness and provide effective coordination in emergencies, in line with the Core Commitments for Children (CCCs) in Humanitarian Action, strengthening partnerships with Health and Nutrition humanitarian actors within the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC). Accomplish other assigned duties and responsibilities effectively.

Work Experience

At least two years of professional experience in health and nutrition programming, preferably in a developing country context. Experience in emergency settings is an asset.
